Whenever I am out of town I love to check out the local craft and fabric shops in the area. So when I recently ventured down to Poole and The New Forest for the weekend I automatically grabbed my phone and searched for such shops close by to where we were staying.
Much to my surprise a whole array of tempting shops were calling out to me, wanting me to go visit them!! After persuading my husband that "yes, it really was necessary that we visit Fabric Land in Poole at 5pm. And no, I am not mad, there will be lots of other people there too at that time!" he decided we should go as he would not hear the last of it!
When we pulled up out side the shop next to a whole line of cars full of bored looking men sat waiting for their ladies who were busy at work inside the land of fabric (literally)!! I walked in with a massive smile on my face and was automatically met with lots of happy shoppers and six lovely shop assistants running around cutting up fabric and bagging up buttons, beads and all sorts of haberdashery things!
Next Sunday we run our first adult sewing afternoon at The Creative Hub so it was the perfect opportunity to buy embroidery hoops, fabric and well, even more fabric!
I managed to find the prefect design fabric for a pair of PJ's I plan to make this winter. Plus the ideal fabric for sashes which will made and used by our young artists at our first art exhibition and The Big Draw on 18th October 2015.
I think the fact that I ended up buying so much wonderful good quality fabric (of which I could not stop stroking and admiring all the way home much to my husbands disbelief!) I was pleasantly surprised at how little it cost, so it really is worth shopping around!
